The theft of a letter while it was being sorted at tho launceston Post Office yesterday by Horace Rudolph Dennis, a mail sorter, had its sequel 
in the City Policy Court this morning, when he was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
How the district postal inspector (Mr W. J. Kearns) posted a letter containing marked bank notes and postage stamps at Devonport, and how  Dennis was later found in the Launceston mail room with the notes in his wallet was described by Detective Burke. Dennis admitted the theft from the mail.

DENNIS - On May 27, at h is residence, 4 Cardigan St., Launceston, Horace R. beloved husband of Valetta L Dennis, and loving father of Peggy, Margaret and Graeme, and beloved son of Mrs. Elizabeth H Dennis, and the late George Dennis, of Beaconsfield.  In his 50th year.  Late 12th Battalion, 1st A.I.F. Private cremation, Tuesday afternoon - C.T. Finney, A.F.D.A. 16 Brisbane Street.
