War Service/Promotions:

Disembarked Boulogne, France, 27 March 1916. To rest Camp in the Field on 18 August 1916. Temporarily attached to 45th H.A.G. on 30 August 1916, then rejoined his Brigade on 4 September 1916. To 5th Army Signalling School, France, from 54th Battalion on 2 December 1916, then rejoined from Sig. School on 18 December 1917. Transferred on 23 February 1917 to 36th H.A.G. Granted leave to England on 16 June 1917 and rejoined from leave on 29 June 1917. Awarded Military Medal 13 August 1917. Detached to Signal School on 12 September 1917, and on 1 October 1917 transferred to Australian Engineers 36th Australian H.A.G. as Sapper. Admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, England , 2 November 1917 suffering from influenza, and discharged to duty 6 November 1917. Rejoined from XV Corps Signal School on 8 November 1917, and promoted to 2nd Corporal on same day. Selected to attend Signal Cadet School at Sig. Service Training Centre, Bedford, England on 14 December 1917. To be 2nd Lieutenant 27 May 1918. Proceeded overseas to France via Southampton, Hampshire, England, on 18 June 1918, and allotted to Aust. Corps Sig. Co. On 25 July 1918 marched out G.B.D. to Unit. Transferred to England on 19 February 1919. Marched out for R.T.A. from 3rd Group AIF, Codford, Wiltshire, England, on 5 April 1919. Marched in to No 2 Com. Depot on 6 April 1919. Marched out to port of Embarkation on 10 April 1919 to return to Australia.

Fate:   Returned to Australia per HMAT A7 Medic, 10 April 1919, disembarking 31 May 1919. He married Mary Ann Rebecca Gash, 28 March 1925, All Saints Church, St Kilda, Vic. He also served in World War 2.

Place of Death:   31 July 1976, Toorak, Vic.

Place of Cremation:   Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Springvale, Vic.
