"THE LATE PRIVATE W. H. STEVENS.
Private W. H. Stevens, who was killed in action on November 21, was the eldest son of the late Mr. James Stevens, formerly a resident of Broken Hill, and Mrs. E. Stevens, of Lower North Adelaide. He left Adelaide on August 26, 1915, and after serving in Egypt, went to Finance, where he saw much fighting. Two others brothers — Privates J. L. and F. R. Stevens — are in France." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 30 Dec 1916 (nla.gov.au)
