Pte William James Barnes

Born Devonport the son of Charles and Caroline Barnes (nee Sushames) of Penguin a 25 year old carpenter he served with the 26th Battalion and returned to Australia 9th December 1918 after receiving a gunshot wound to the face. He died 30th August 1929 aged 39 and was buried in the Devonport Cemetery.
