SEMPLE v. SEMPLE
Ernest Alfred Semple, In support of his petition for divorce, informed the Court that he lived with his wife, Mary Alice Semple, at Queenstown for five months after they were married in September, 1909, and had since found no trace of her.
Three weeks after marriage, he said, she wanted to come to Hobart, but he refused, as his job was at Queenstown. One day in February followlng the marriage he returned home and found she had gone. He had not seen her from that day. Neighbours said she had left in the train. He went to the war in 1914, and continued his inquiries when he returned in 1918.
Asked why he had not brought the suit before, witness said he did not think he could get a divorce if his wife's whereabouts were not known.
The decree nisi was granted.
Mr. H. G. Ryan (Gatenby, Johnson, and Walker) appeared for petitioner.
