Husband of Jessie Anne HOEY nee McLEOD
Ancestry records show him as being born in 1895 at Carrickmacross, Monaghan, Ireland.
On arrival at Suez he was taken on strength at Brighton Beach 07 April 1916 and proceeded to France. Rowland was reported missing in the Field 23 November 1916 but was admitted with GSW to left foot in Rouen the same day. He was sent to England from Havre to 1st Auxiliary Hospital Harefield. Proceeded again to France 24 April 1917 to Etaples.
Suffered from Synovitis of Right Knee 02 July 1917 and sent back to England.
Returned to Australia per HT Dunluce Castle 08 Arpirl 1918 and discharged with Pleurisy with Effusion.
Discharged as medically unfit in Melbourne 24 September 1918,
In 1951 he was residing at 63 Mein Street, Redcliffe, Qld.
