Son of Daniel Olaf Olsen and Annie Elizabeth Olsen of  Evans Street, Rozelle, NSW.

Edward also served with the Russian Relief Force after his discharge from the AIF with number 193014 and  rank of Private with Machine Gun Corps. 

British War Medal, Victory Medal were returned by Australia House, London on 2 August 1922 as they would be issued for service in the Russian Relief Force.

Date of his return to Australia is unknown
