Percy Reginald Elbert MEDWIN was born in Barrington, Sheffield, Tasmania on 14th December, 1897
His parents were George MEDWIN and Mary Clark DUNCANSON who married in Waratah, Emu Bay, Tasmania on 28th March, 1882
He enlisted in Ulverstone, Tasmania on 31st August, 1916 and embarked on 10th February, 1917 with the 40th Infantry Battalion, 7th reinforcements from Adelaide on the HMAT Seang Bee
Percy was Killed in Action on 1st October 1918 in France and buried near Guillemont, his grave is now unknown and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial and the Villers Bretonneux Memorial
