Bruce Mckenzie Foulis served as a sergeant in the 1st Machine Gunners Squadron in the 3rd Light Horse in WW1. He served abroad for 2 years and 33 days with his total service being 3 years and 199 days.  

Prior to enlistment he was a surveyor working on GO GO Station in the Kimberley Rangers and had excellent skills riding a horse.  

After the war he was employed on Corona Station near Brokel Hill as an Overseer.  His brother Irvine was manager of the Station.

After his marrige in 1923 he managed Minburra Staton for the Forresters, then in 1926 he moved to manage the Andamooka Partoral Company until 1944.  Whilst in Andamooka he was the man who identified the coloured sandstones found by Sam Brooks and his brother-in-law Royy Shepherd, as being opal.  

Bruce was eventually appointed to the position of Pastoral Inspector for the South Australian Governemnt, which he held until his death in 1948.
