His birth was registered in West Ham-that registration district covered Walthamstow at the time.

The family name on the grave marker at Chingford Mount Cemetery clearly shows that it was De Vine
He was 20 and the son of Walter and Caroline Devine.
The date he was killed is not certain but it was between 3rd and 6th November 1916. He is remembered on the family grave at Chingford Mount.
The inscription on his war grave reads:
IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR DEAR BROTHER FOR EVER IN OUR THOUGHTS
