2395 Pte James Mitchell enlisted 14.4.15 aged 21years 7months. Born Fitzroy Vic. Next of Kin, mother, Mrs Isabella Mitchell, 'Wakefield' Hope St, Spotswood, Victoria. Depart Aust on HMAT 'A64' as a reinforcement to the 8th Bn AIF on 16.7.1915. To Gallipoli (date not recorded). Joined Machine Gun Section at Shrapnel Gully, Gallipoli 15.10.15. Admitted to No3 Casualty Clearing Station at ANZAC 23.10.15 as wounded (dislocated shoulder). Returned to Australia 19.6.16. Discharged as medically unfit 31.8.16.
