6th Light Horse Regiment

Rank - Sergeant - Trumpeter

5 December 1915 - To hospital - abcess on the jaw

25 November 1917 - conjunctavitis

7 January 1918 Reprimanded for being AWOL for 30 minutes

2 March 1918 - To hospital  Trachoma of the right eye

11 October 1918 - Court Martialled - Eric and two others pleaded gulity to capturing and selling two enemy horses and one donkey near Jeruselum. Eric was sentenced to six months hard labour and reverted to the rank of Trooper. Had to repay the 17 Pounds ($34) fr the animals. His Army pay was with held until the money had been repaid

2 November 1918 Marched out to detention

11 November 1918 To hospital - Malaria

17 July 1919 Returned to Australia on board HMAT Dunlace Castle

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Son of Stephen and Frances Esther Deadman, Goulburn Street, Liverpool, New South Wales. Husband of Emily Zara Deadman. Emily was interred on 26 October 1959 and is buried in the same grave as Eric.
