DEATH OF
MR. JAMES
O'HANLON
Mr. James Kemp O'Hanlon passed peacefully away at his residence last Sunday afternoon, and Safety Bay lost one of its best known, most sincerely loved and deeply respected citizens. He was known to all, particularly earlier residents, as one of nature's gentlemen, who retired from his activities on the goldfields to enjoy the environments of the district. All organisations held him in the highest esteem. His honorary services toward all concerned with the growth of the district and functions held In that connection will not be forgotten. His love of children, and hls work with and for them will long be remembered by those with whom he came in contact. In recent years his activity was curtailed owing to gradual falling health, but the interest in affairs of the district generally was maintained.
Jim, as he was known by all, was one of the few honorary life members of the RSL in this State. As a veteran of the South African and 1914-8 wars, he maintalned active interest in RSL matters. His congenial company will be sadly missed by those who shared with him his respects and thoughts for others in the community. Deepest and sincere sympathy is extended by all residents to the sorrowing widow and family.
Funeral took place at Karrakatta on Tuesday.
