Son of Oscar A. Valentin and Charlotte Valentin of Orchard Street, Croydon, NSW. Brother of Alfred Arthur Valentin who returned to Australia on 22 May 1919 having served with the 54th & 56th Battalion.

Husband of Ellen Valentin on Byron Street, Kingsley Park, Northampton, England

Commenced return to Australia on 13 February 1917 aboard HT Benalla disembarking on 10 April 1917.
