Son of Joseph Egan, Nimbin, Richmond River, New South Wales
MR. DANIEL EGAN.
A former well known resident of the Nimbin district, Mr. Daniel Egan, 55, died in Brisbane on Tuesday night. He had gone there for medical attention. Mr. Egan was born at Cumnock, in the Western districts of N.S.W., but came to the Nimmn district as a boy, with his father, the late Joseph Egan. Mr. Egan, enlisted early in the first World War and saw service in France. He was wounded at Hammel and after wards invalided " home. After the war, Mr. Egan settled on the land at Nimbin, until a few years ago when he joined the Tick staff. He naa been stationed at Acacia Plateau and Baryulgil. He married in Lismore, Miss Eileen Kroll, a member of a Nimbin family. In addition to his widow, eight brothers and three sisters survive. The brothers are Messrs. Timothy (Darwin), John (Carrington, N.S.W.), Thomas (Killarney) , Michael (Cudgera Headland), Richard, Edward and Phillip (Lismore), and Frank Egan (Nimbin). Sisters are Mrs. J. Ruttley (Kyogle), Mrs. H. Ahrens (Muswellbrook), and Miss Mary Egail (Lismore). His funeral will leave St. Carthage's Cathedral, Lismore, to morrow after a service commencing at 11 a.m., for Lismore Cemetery.
