Mother's Grief

In loving memory of my dear son Joseph Allan Young killed in action October 4 1917.

In our home there's a beautiful picture, to us it is dearer than gold; it's the picture of our dear Joe, Now laid deep down in the cold. Little we thought when we last said good-bye, that we had parted forever, and you were to die. The grief that we felt words cannot tell. That you were not able to bid us farewell.

His loving mother Sarah.
