Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

William was the second of six children of James Edwards/Dyson (b1853 in Perth, WA) and Emily Harriet Tuckerman (b1850 in Hawkesbury, NSW). James (a Printer) and Emily married in 1879 in Sydney, NSW where they settled and raised their family. James died in 1918 when he fell from a window in his home.

William worked as a Labourer at Binna Downs in Liverpool NSW and was a Dealer in Sydney NSW in February 1916 when he enlisted in the AIF (his War records show his second name as Oswell although Birth and Christeining Records have it as Oswald). William served with the 30th Infantry Battalion (Private; Service No:3222) and was hospitalised on several occasions - in 1918 he was evacuated from Belgium and hospitalised for  thirteen weeks with Trench Fever (National Archives Australia). William was Discharged in December 1918.

Returning to Sydney NSW, William died in 1926.
