David Howell Griffiths was born in March of 1895 in Carmarthen Wales. He moved to Adelaide, South Australia earlier in his life. David was 5"6 and weighed 57 kilograms, he had fresh complexion, brown eyes and dark hair. David's occupation was a brick layer and enlisted in the AIF on October 14th 1915.
David embarked for Alexandria, Egypt on the 20th of March 1916 as a part of the 3rd field company engineers. He was a part of the reinforcements at Tel-el-Kebir on the 24th of April 1916. On the 2nd of May 1916 David Howell Griffiths contracted Haemoptysis. On the 5th of may 1916 He was diognosed with Pulmonary Tuberculosis. He was then returned to Australia on the 23rd of July 1916 discharged from the army on the 15th of January 1917. David Howell Griffiths sadly passed on the 10th of February 1920.
