Son of Henry Osman and Eliza Osman nee Davey of Exminster, Exeter, Devonshire, England.

On 8 July 1918 Henry married Ethel Annie Butcher in St. John de Sepulchre Parish Church, Norwich, Norfolk, England. Vicar Alexander Henderson officiated.

Commenced return to Australia on 21 June 1919 aboard HT Konigin Luise disembarking on 2 August 1919
