MAN KILLED
AT LEVEL
CROSSING
Saul Sharman (66), married, of Wynyard, was killed about 12.30 pm yesterday when his horse-drawn sledge was struck on a level crossing by a train travelling in reverse. The fatality occurred on the Frederick St. crossing, East Wynyard. The train was travelling from Wynyard to the ballast pit at Flowerdale. Sharman was killed instantly. Both legs were broken and he had severe internal injuries. The horse was uninjured.
