Harold Bertram Rodda son of Mrs Beatrice Rodda was born in August of 1897 in Broken Hill, NSW, Australia. Later moved to Woodville, South Australia where he worked as a Junior Porter. Harold Rodda was a single man, who was 18 and 6 months when he enlisted on the 10th of February 1916 in Adelaide as an A.I.F private. He was assigned to the 2nd depot Battalion but was later taken on strength and transferred to the 32nd Battalion and the 6th Reinforcements on the 26th of August 1916.

Harold was under the average height of 5’8 or 172cm, he stood at  5’5 ¼ ft or 165.7 cm tall. He had blue eyes and a fresh complexion with fair hair. Harold Bertram Rodda embarked on the 11th of April 1916 from Adelaide, South Australia, aboard the HMAT A60 Aeneas.

Harold was wounded in action on the fields and admitted to the hospital again on the 28th of October 1916, with an injury to his left foot. He was admitted to the 1st Southern Gen Hospital on the 2nd of November 1916 for a mild left foot injury and was released on the 11th of November 1916. Harold later proceeded overseas to France on the 12th of December 1917 in the 32nd Battalion.

Harold was advised to return to Australia on the 20th of December 1918 for Gas Poisoning. He arrived in Australia on the 30th of January 1919 aboard the Orontes. He was awarded the British War Medal (12611) and Victory Medal (12455).

At the age of 62, Harold Bertram Rodda passed away on the 18th of May 1960 at Springbank. He is buried in the West Terrace Cemetary in Adelaide, South Australia.
