Date unknown: Honoured Military Medal, Military Medal 'For his gallant and conspicuous conduct during the attack near ZONNEBEKE on the morning of 26th September, 1917. He repeatedly dressed and carried wounded and in doing so had to cross a swamp which was swept by machine gun fire and heavily shelled. Frederick Crowdy GIBSON was born in Cooma, NSW in 1895

His parents were Edmund GIBSON & Margaret LEONARD who married in Cooma in 1894

He enlisted in Goulburn on 14th November, 1915 & embarked with the 13th Infantry Battalion, 17th reinforcements from Sydney on the HMAT Nestor on 9th April, 1916

He was Killed in Action on 8th August 1918 - no known grave

He was awarded the Military Medal (see AWM link for details)

His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Villers Bretonneux Memorial
