Biography

Frank Leslie Sexton died at a battle near Pozières, France on 02 Apr 1917.

He had been seriously wounded in the neck and stomach. By the time help arrived, he directed the stretcher-bearer to attend the other wounded men that may be saved, and just to leave him with one last cigarette. When the stretcher bearer returned Frank had died.

This information was told to Frank's mother (Emily Sexton), and his sister (Ivy Sexton), during a visit they received from the very same stretcher-bearer after he had returned from the war. This story has been part of our family history passed down over the generations. - Linda Rogalasky

***After further research and enquiry I now believe Frank Sexton died at (or near) the outpost village of NOREUIL  during the German retreat along The Hindenburg Line.
