HE LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR OTHERS NO MAN COULD DO MORE
Pte. Jack L. Oswald, of the 10th BattaFix this textlion, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Oswald, Grange, was killed in action in France on June 28. He was 20 years of age, and enlisted in October last. For three years prior to that he had been engaged in newspaper work in Adelaide, and had a promising literary career.
OSWALD.—On the 28th June, in France, 7533, Private J. L. (Jack), 10th Battalion, A. I. F., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Oswald, Grange, brother of Vera, Gladys, and Jim; also grandson of the late James and Isabella Lawson, of Gawler, and cousin of Captain G. H. Oswald, M. C., 43rd Battalion, and Lieutenant C. W. O. Oswald, 27th Battalion, A. I. F., abroad, aged 20 years.
