Oliver served as president of the Aron Bay sub branch of RSL for 2 years and one as president of Cleve - Aron Bay. He was instrumental in Aron Bay forming own Branch. men of Aron Bay Red Cross during WW1. He was Highly respected member of the comminity. He was awarded a Life Membership of the RSL in 1957.
