Incorrectly reported in South Australian newspapers to have died of enteric fever at Bloemfontein 13 August 1900.

Invalided to Australia arrived 28 February 1901.

Later served as Lance Corporal with 3rd New South Wales Imperial Bushmen.

Enlisted as a Reinforcement for 9th Battalion AIF January 1916, promoted Corporal, wounded in action Broodseinde Ridge 5 October 1917, returned to Australia, discharged February 1919.

Pether, William Henery (Henry), Trooper from Payneham born Kooringa, Burra 11 Jun 1877, single.

Mother: Rebecca Pether, nee Hall.  Father : Henery Pether.

Incorrectly reported in South Australian newspapers to have died of enteric fever at Bloemfontein 13 August 1900.
