Military Medal

'Is recommended for devotion to duty under heavy shell fire when in charge of carrying parties during the advance near ZONNEBEKE on 26th September, 1917. Though suffering from previous wounds and much exhausted he carried on and set a splendid example. The work of this N.C.O. has been uniformly good throughout and he exhibits soldierly qualities of the highest order.'
