Son of Charles Rowe Vanderwolf and Ellen Julia Vanderwolf nee Jakeman of Miriam Vale,QLD. Brother of Charles Jakeman who died of Pneumonia in Sutton, England on 12 January 1918 while serving with the 1st Divisional Ammunition Column. Charles is buried in the St. John Churchyard, Sutton Veny, England. Plot 24, Row I, Grave 3.
Commenced return to Australia on 5 April 1918 aboard HT Borda disembarking on 1 June 1918 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
