Son of Charles and Annie Goldthorpe from Upper Horton NSW.
Enlisted 4th January 1916 at Bingara then went to Armidale to join the 33rd Battalion B division. He was 23 years old when he joined. He recieved facial injury on 22 Feb 1917. He was discharged 19 July 1919 and returned home on sickness and injured.
His younger brother Wilford Goldthorpe also joined and served in the 33rd Battalion but died in action at the age of 18.
My Grandfather Arthur Goldthorpe was to young to enlist.
