"...2139 Private Edward Crossland, 47th Battalion, of Gordonvale, Qld. Formerly a farmer, Pte Crossland enlisted on 18 March 1916 and as a member of the 4th Reinforcements he embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Boorara (A42) on 16 August 1916. He served on the Western Front where he was captured by the German army and died whilst a prisoner of war (POW) on 22 July 1918, aged 34." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
