9 May 1918: Honoured Military Medal, Citation transcript: "Awarded Military Metal for bravery and initiative. On night of 25/26 April 1918 at Ridge Wood he was in charge of a patrol with instructions to try and locate the enemy position. He successfully got through the enemy outpost line and found that Vierstraat was held by the enemy and brought back valuable information on their positions etc."
