OUR LOSSES
Pte. R. Rundle
Through the agency of the Red Cross authorities information has been received that Pte. Reg. Rundle had been killed in action in France on 11th April last. Since that date the  Defence authorities have posted Pte. Rundle as missing, and efforts to trace the missing soldier have been unsuccessful. The Red Cross authoritiesigive full particulars concerning  Pte. Rundle who was found dead in a sitting posture in a trench. The young soldier was only 20 years and enlisted three years ago. He was the third son of Mr. John Rundle, of
Nirranda, and formerly of Mortlake where the yaung hero, was born. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives, and friends.

RUNDLE.- A tribute of love to the memory of my dear brother, Private R. Rundle, killed in action, 11th April, 1917.
We tried our best to keep him,
We pleaded for him to remain;
But he said, my country is calling,
Let me go, or I die in shame.
His duty nobly done.
- (Inserted by Maude and Rene Rundle.)

RUNDLE.- Killed at Bullecourt on April 11, 1917 (previously reported missing), Private Reggie Rundle, 46th Battalion, dearly loved son of Mr. and Mrs. Rundle, Nirranda, and loving  brother Jack, Florrie, May, Jane, Tom, and Jim (on active service), Ada, Irene, Alex., Maud, and Stewart; also brother-in-law, Lizzie and Bob, aged 20 years.
We mourn for you, dear Reggie,
But not with outward show;
For those who mourn sincerely
Mourn silently and low.
He died a hero, brave and true,
And wore the colours, blue and gold.
