Son of John Vaubel and Annie Vaubel nee Stewart of Emmaville, NSW.

Brother of George Vaubel who returned to Australia on 2 Sesptember 1919 having served with the 1at Pioneer Battalion; Frederick Gladstone Vaubel who was killed in actin on 15 October 1917 while serving with the 15th Battalion. Frederick was buried in the Divisional Collecting Post Cemetery Extension, Plot II, Row H, Grave 18 

Husband of Annie Olive Vaubel nee Craig of Helen Street,  Brisbane, QLD. Arthur and Annie married during 1910c in NSW

Commenced return to Australia on 15 May 1919 aboard HT Ypiringa disembarking on 6 July 1919 at Melbourne for onwards travel to Brisbane.
