Oliver Ernest MERRITT
Oliver born in Brisbane on 09 Jul 1890 was one of nine children of Morris MERRITT and Mary Ann WAIN. Both Morris and Mary Ann migrated to Queensland from England. Morris arrived in Moreton Bay on board the Agricola 2 Mar 1853 as the only surviving child of Morris and Sarah MERRITT. Morris junior was one year old born North Waltham, Hampshire, England. Mary Ann daughter of William Charles WAIN and Susanna DUCKETT was born Exhall, Warwickshire, England. Mary Ann was two years old when she arrived in Moreton Bay on board the Sultana.
Oliver's brother Morris Charles MERRITT also served in the AIF in the 47th Infantry Battalion. Morris survived the war. Oliver died 3 Oct 1918 aged 28 years.
