James David Hill Annan, Born in Scotland and was working as a Grocer in Mackay at the start of the war. Was 13Rft/15Bn, transferred to the 47Bn in April 1916 and then the 48Bn. Wounded in action (GSW thigh) while advancing towards Proyart on 8th August 1918. Returned to Scotland after the war. Looking westward to the line of advance from the park of the Arc de Triomphe Proyart (which was held by the Germans) and a tribute left in his memory, November 2018.
