Pte Lionel RILAT, 15th Infantry Battalion
The son of Leopold Edward and Ellen Rilat (nee Hopewell) of St Marys a 21 year old miner he served with the 15th Battalion. He was captured by the Germans at Bullecourt I on 11/4/1917 and was repatriated to London on 17/12/1918. Returned to Australia 9th February 1919 and was discharged on 31st May 1919. He died 1968 in South Australia and was buried in the Derrick Gardens RSL Cemetery.
