Obituary from Muswellbrook Chronicle, 15 March 1946

MR. EDWARD LESLIE PEACHEY.

The death occurred at Earlwood on 23rd February last of Mr. Edward Leslie Peachey, at the age of 56 years.

Deceased was born in Muswellbrook, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Peachey. He had been a member of the Postal Department for many years, and until his death had been stationed at William Street, Darlinghurst.

The late Mr. Peachey was a veteran of World War I, and spent 3 years of his 4 years' service in France. He enlisted in the 31st Battalion, and afterwards transferred to the 17th Field Ambulance. He married in England, and returned to Australia with his wife after the end of the war.

Deceased is survived by a widow, and three brothers and three sisters, viz., Messrs William Peachey (New Lambton), and Allan and Ross (Muswellbrook), Mrs. E. Radmidge (Bexley), Mrs. J. Clark (Gunnedah), Mrs.W. Donaldson (Muswellbrook).

The remains were cremeated (sic) at Rookwood, following the church service held at Dulwich Hill.
