Harry Rogers simply went missing at Fromelles during the 59th Battalion’s first battle on the Western Front at Fromelles. He was not confirmed as killed in action until a Court of Enquiry was held on 29 August 1917.

He was the son of Anthony and Eliza Rogers. His mother had passed away in 1895 when Harry was 7 years of age. His father lived at Empress Avenue, West Footscray, Victoria.

His brother 22442 Bombardier Anthony Rogers 7th Field Artillery Brigade was later killed in action 22 October 1917 in Belgium.
