Private Leslie Gordon Miller (Service No:2726) enlisted in the AIF on 3 July 1916 and embarked with his brother (Private George William Miller; Service No:2725) from Melbourne with 46th Infantry Battalion on 20 October 1916 on board HMAT Port Lincloln A17. Private Miller served in France and was hospitalised with Trench Fever. On 20 October 1917 he was awarded two Blue Chevrons and in March 1919 was attached to AIF Graves Detachment. He embarked for the RTA on 25 September 1919 on board HT Port Dennison and was Discharged on 4 January 1920.

Born in 1897 at Elliminyt nr Colac in Victoria, Leslie was the third of four children of George Miller (b1841 in Norfolk, England) and second wife Esther Bowyer (b1860 in Carisbrook, Victoria). George ( a Widow and Labourer) and Esther married in 1893 at Woodford, Victoria and settled in Colac where they raised their family and George was a Labourer.

Leslie was working as a Baker when he enlisted in WWI and following his Discharge he lived in Echuca where he worked as a Boat Builder. In 1924 he married Laura Amelia Caroline Hayes (b1903 in Colac, Victoria) and the couple moved to Melbourne where Leslie worked as a Boat Builder. Leslie and Laura lived in Melbourne, Echuca and Beeac where Leslie worked as a Boat Builder, Labourer, Farmer, Painter and Carpenter. Laura died in 1962 and Leslie in 1966.
