Gt. Uncle Bill was born: 7 August 1909 in Dumfries, Scotland.
He arrived in Victoria, Australia, in 1912 with his Parents and Siblings.
1920 Bill moved to Taylor St, Glen Innes, NSW
1935 Bill moved to and lived in Inverell, NSW and then later in 1935 moved again to Moree, NSW.
Bill married: 2 Nov 1935 in the C of E Church, Moree NSW
to Phyllis Ena WILSON (my Gt Auntie, sister to my Grandma Alma Denning).
1957 - 1960 Bill was Elected twice as Mayor of Moree, NSW.
1958 - Bill was the Deputy Sheriff of Moree, NSW
Bill retired, enjoying his hobby of making Chess Boards.

William Thomas TAIT - Senior, was active in WWI, age 30, Single. Later William married Margaret Laing Hunter and they had 4 Children: Fred, Bill (William Thomas Jnr), Andrew, and Bessie.
William Snr was Born: 27.9.1884 Numuska, Victoria, Australia. Enlisted 20.10.1914, AIF, Private No. 487, WWI Service: 10th Light Horse Regiment, embarked from Fremantle W.A., Ship HMAT Surada.
Demobilised: 24 Sept 1919.
SON: William Thomas TAIT - Junior, aka 'Bill' - was active in WWII.
Born: 7 Aug 1909 in Dumfries, Scotland. Arrived in Toorak, Victoria Aust at age 3, in 1912 from Scotland. Later moved to Inverell NSW, then Moree NSW. Became Mayor of Moree twice.
Died: 12 Jul 1999, Noosa Heads, age 89
Later in Moree, Bill became Mayor (twice) and Deputy Sheriff of the Moree Town, NSW where he met his Wife Phyllis Ena Wilson.
