Harry was living and working in Brisbane Queensland as a Jockey and joined the Australian Army 2 August 1915 - 25th Battalion 6th Reinforcements embarked

21 October 1915 to Egypt on board HMAT Seang Bee disembarked Egypt to training camps Habeita and Zeiton transferred to 9th Battalion 28 February 1916 embarked to Marseilles France 27 March 1916 – disembarked Marseilles France 3 April 1916 and spent rest of the war in France Belgium leave in England and lot of time in and out of hospitals, my father Gerald Atkins told me that Harry was gassed and wounded during the war he returned to Australia 12 May1919.

When Harry returned to Australia J Fielding & Co Pty employed him as a dispatch clerk in June 1919 and he received a 29-year long service award Xmas 1948 and was with them until his death.

Harry married Lucy May Brien from Port Macquarie

27 February 1924 had two children.

Son - Frederick Morton Searle who tragically drowned in a pond at Centennial Park Sydney NSW

20 May 1927 age 2.

Daughter - Dorothy Morton Searle born 30 May 1930 Dorothy married Gerald Atkins and they had three children.  James – Robert – Suzanne

Harry was well liked in the community, on his death from Pneumonia at The Cost Hospital (Prince Henry) Little Bay La Perouse NSW 12 January 1955, he had a good turnout at the funeral family friends work mates representatives from the Coogee Randwick RSL club and sub branch directors and staff Hotel Plaza and management and staff from the Duke of Gloucester Hotel

And he is buried at Randwick general Cemetery South Coogee City of Randwick NSW with his

Harry’s wife Lucy May died in 1974 age 81 she is buried at Wentworth Falls Cemetery

Harry had five brothers and two sisters, three of his brothers served in 1st & 5th Field ambulance

Arthur served in Egypt and Gallipoli

Albert served in Egypt

Frederick was Killed in action Ypres Belgium
