DARRA-ROAD FATALITY.
Giving evidence at Warwick yesterday at the inquest into the death of Richard Young, of Woody Point who died on his way to hospital on August 15, following an accident on the Ipswich-road, when the Warwick-Brisbane service car was overturned. Francis Ellis Burling, truck driver, of Warwick, who was a passenger in the car, said that the driver did all possible to avoid the accident.
To avoid a hearse the car driver swerved sharply off the bitumen into gravel. He travelled along it for about 30 yards, then swerved back on to the bitumen. The car missed the hearse by inches. When the car rolled over the first time deceased was in the vehicle, and witness fell on top of him. When it rolled over the second time deceased was not in the car, and witness hit the side of the vehicle nearest the ground. The inquest was adjourned to Ipswich.
