John Gallienne Tabel was born about May 1881 in St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands. He was the son of Abraham Gallienne Tabel and Mary Ann Talbert.
Before arriving in Australia (sometime after 1911), John served for 9 years with the Jersey Light Infantry.
John enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (Army) in Perth, WA on 7 Oct 1915 at the age of 34 years and 5 months.
He was wounded in action three times.
John died in 1960 aged 79 years, His death was registered in Fremantly, WA.
