Son of Beno Oscar Victor Julius ZOWE & Smithen Rose nee HARRIS.
He enlisted on the 14th December, 1915, and sailed for Egypt on the 16th April, 1916, arriving there on the 10th May, 1916.
He arrived in France on the 10th June, 1916, and was wounded at Pozieres on the 10th August, 1916, being sent to hospital in England. He rejoined his Battalion on the 15th December, 1916, and was wounded again at Bullecourt, where he was taken prisoner of war on the 11th April, 1917. He was sent to Switzerland from Germany on the 28th December, 1917, and was kept there until the signing of the Armistice.
He returned to Australia in March, 1919, and received his discharge on the 9th June, 1919.
Left for England on the 'Esperance Bay' and arrived there 7 August 1924
Died in England 13 December 1955 at Birkenhead, Cheshire
