Son of Robert Stewart Varcoe and Madeline Isabella Rebecca Varcoe of Byng Street, Orange, NSW formerly of Hillston, NSW.

Brother of Bertram Varoce who returned to Australia on 6 August 1915 having served with the 6th Battalion and Albert Edward Varcoe who was killed in action on 19 May 1915 while serving with the 3rd Battalion and is buried in the 4th Battalion Parade Ground Cemetery, Row A, Grave 4.

Husband of Margaret Ann Varcoe nee Taylor. Victor and Margaret were married on 2 May 1918 in St. Michael's Church, Shrewsbury, England. Vicar E.B. MacNab officiated
