Captain LF Coldwell-Smith MC 32ad Battalion (SA) enlisted in Victoria on 1 July 1915 as Lieutenant having previously graduated from Duntroon Military College. He became Captain ans Adjutant to the 29th Battalion (Vic) in February 1916. His Military Cross was gazetted on January 1 1917. While on Service he was wounded in April 1918.
Prior to enlisting he was a telegrahist in Flinders Street Melbourne. He is the brother of CE Coldwell_Smith 3rd Machine Gun Battalion and the son Mr F Coldwell-Smith of Ballarat.
