We regret to announce the death from heart failure, early on Tuesday morning, of Mr. Martin Riley at the age of 66. A few hours before Mr. Riley's deth, he suddenly took ill in his room at the Railway Hotel. The Ambulance Brigade had just been summoned to convey him to the Hospital when he passed away. The late Mr. Riley had been in this district for a large number of years, and followed the occupation of cook. He had no known relatives. Mr. Riley was a Returned Soldier, and he was given a military funeral by the Longreach sub-branch of the R.S.S.I.L.A. on Tuesday, the Rev. Father Jones officating at the graveside.
