Harry enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 27 January 1916, Private, Service No. 6231. He embarked for active service abroad on 7 September 1916 with the 14th Australian Infantry Battalion. He returned to Australia on 5 July 1917 and was discharged medically unfit on 21 August 1917. He applied for Home Service and commenced as a Guard with the Garrison Military Police on 22 August 1917. He died at the No. 11 Australian General Hospital aged 42 years.
