Son of Arthur Edward Utting and Grace Utting nee Hooper of Moonta, SA.

Husband of Laura Elizabeth Utting nee Deguet of Clare Street, Portland*, SA. Portland* now known as Port Adelaide. Arthur and Laura were married on 11 August 1906 at the residence of Rev. J.W. Bamber of Semaphore South, SA. Father of Florence Violet Utting, Beatrice Elizabeth Utting and Charles Edward Utting.

Commenced return to Australia on 1 July 1916 aboard HT Mashobia disembarking on 7 August 1916
