Son of Thomas James and Johanna Vallis of Canterbury, Kent, England.
Husband of Isabel Maude Vallis nee Wilson of 'Sialkot', Campbell Street, Waverley, NSW. Thomas and Isabel married during 1912c in Woollahra, NSW. Step-father of John Alan Wilson and Brian Wilson.
Previously served with the 12th Royal Lancers for twelve years as Instructional Staff.
Eye witnesses said that Thomas was sitting in a trench when an artillery exploded there burying him. Later it could not be located.
